WHEREAS, new sources of municipal revenue must shortly be
found to provide funds to ease off property taxes and pay the costs
of post-war improvements, and
~TfERE&S,! this problem is one which vitally cgncerns the'business
and commercial interests of the City,
NOW, TI~EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVEDr that the Bakersfield Chamber
of Conferee be asked to study the problem and to formulate and
report to the City Council, some suitable plan for providing· new
sources of municipal revenue to enable the City to reduce property
taxes and to provide additional money with-which to meet demands
for post-war'improvements and reconstruction.
BE IT FURTt{F~ RESOLVED that the City Manager, City Assessor,
City Tax Collector~ and the City Attorney be directed to assist'
and advise the Chamber of Commerce~ and that the members of the
City Council be ex-officio members-of such committee or committees
as theChamber of~Commerce may appoint to make such study and
formulate such plan.
