WHEREAS, there is sweeping the Country a demand that
service men and v~omen who are 18 years of age be allowed to
cast ballots in national, state, county and city elections; and
~AS, any man old enough to carry a gun and protect
his country is old enough to have a voice in its government;
and
~k~HZ&S~ p~oposals to lower the voting age from 21 to
18 years for all service men and women have been initiated in
Narylsnd, Arizona, Nassachusetts, Nosy Hampshire end Nort~ Dakota;
NO~ THE~E?OEM, BE IT RESOLVEDi that the Oovernor of the
State of Cu. lifornia be urged to include in his call for a special
session of the LeEislature the r~commendation that there be
~cted ~n s~endment to the State Constitution giving service men
and wo~cn v~hohsvo. pssssd their 18~h ~irthdsy the right to vote.
