VYr~EREAS~ on or about the 3rd day of i~arch, 1943,
a Plymouth Coupe automobile~ bearing California license number
E 22084~ owned by the City of Bakersfield~ was damaged by being
run into by a truck owned by the United States of America and/or
the 'gar Department, and
~Fb3EREAS~ the damage to said automobile necessitated
the payment of Forty-two ($42.00) Dollars for repairs, and
~[ff~ER~iS~ it is the desire of the City of Bakersfield,
acting by and through the City Manager of said City, to file a
claim with the proper Federal governmental authorities;
N0~¢~ THE.~FORE~ IT IS RESOLVED as follows:
That the City ~Kanager of the City of Bakersfield~
V. Van Riper, is hereby authorized~ empowered and directed to file
a claim with the proper governmental authorities for recovery of
the sum of Forty-two (I~42.00) Dollars in payment of the damages
above set forth, and to execute on behalf of said City, any and
all such claims and forms of claims that may be required, and such
acceptance and release or other document evidencing full release
as may be required.

I ~EREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 20th day of ~eptember~ 19~3, by
