HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 4-43RESOLUTION NO. 4-43 WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the City Council of the City of Bakersfield, State of California, that there was introduced on the 20th day of January, 1943, Senate Bill 31~, and that said Bill was referred to the Committee on Labor, and ~q~EAS, said Bill amends Section 6902 of the Labor Code of the State of California, by reducing the required number of brakemen on certain railroad trains within this State, and WHEREAS, said City Council has been informed and from such information and its own knowledge, feels that said proposed change would be detrimental to public safety and that said change is not in reality required in order to efficiently and properly operate rail- road trains within this State; NOW, TPREREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY SAID CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, that it is opposed to the passage of said Senate Bill ~13 and hereby urges a negative vote thereon by Members of the Legislature of the State of California; AND BE IT FURTI~R RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be sent to Honorable Jess R. Dorsey, State Senator, and Honorable T. H. Werdel, State Assemblyman, from the County of Kern, State of California. ........... o0o ...........
