V~EREAS, the League of California Cities is holding its con-
vention at Sacramento, California, October 13, 1941, to and includ-
ing October 16, 1941,
AND WHEREAS th~ City of Bakersfield has been a member of the
League for many years, and has derived great benefit therefrom,
A~ WHEREAS, the convention of the League of California Cities
is usually attended by approximately fifteen hundred delegates, and
it would be deemed a privilege to the City of Bakersfield'to have
the convention held in this City,
NOW, THEEEFORE, BE IT REb0LVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BM(ERSFIELD that the City of Bakersfield invite the League of
California Cities to hold its 1942 Convention in the City of Bakers-
field, and Councilmen Norris, Narmaduke and Smith are hereby
delegated. to properly present the invitation of the City of Bakers-
field for said Convention.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 6th day of October, 1941, by the follow-
ing vote:
