A RESOLUTION IN REGARD TO THE MILL
POND SWR~MING POOL IN T}~ CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA.
WHEREAS, the swimming pools of this City are operating
in excess of capacity at the commencement of the season;
WHEREAS, the Kern County Land Company has generously
offered to allow the use of the Mill Pond between 17th Street and
Truxtun Avenue to be used by the Recreation Department Commission
as a swimming pool provided the City assumes all liability ~r
operation and mansgement;
AND WHEREAS, the City needs additional swimming facilities
in connection with the recreation program contemplated for the ensu-
ing season~
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Manager be
instructed to investigate and determine whether the necessary
facilities and safeguards for the use of the Mill Pond as a swimming
pool can be installed to make said Mill Pond suitable and safe for
swimming purposes, and that he consult with the City Engineer and
prepare a report as to the facilities and the cost thereof which
would be required to place said Mill Pond in condition for use.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, at a regular
