HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 04-41 A RESOLUTION ADVOCATING ADOPTION OF A ~ASURE BEFORE THE CALIFORNIA STATE LEGISLATURE PROVIDING FOR AN AR~0RY AT KERN COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS. NO. 4-41 WHEREAS, a need exists for an Armory to house Kern County's National Guard, to provide quarters for bivouac troop movements, and other civic and community needs, and WHEREAS, Kern County has available space suitable for such a building at the Fairgrounds in Bakersfield, California~ and WHEREAS, an Armory will not conflict with any existing or contemplated uses of the Fairgrounds~ and WHERF~S, the Kern County Chamber of Commerce has recommend- ed the Bill which was introduced at the Leffislature for construction of an Armory in Kern County, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Bakersfield does hereby urgently request that said Bill be approved, and that said proposed Armory be located on ground pro- vided by Kern County. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be directed to the Honorable Senator J. I. Wagy, and Assemblyman Rodney Turner. o0o ...........
