V~TEREAS, certain persons owning and/or controlling real
property situated wit)lin and without the limits of the City of
Bakersfield have connected their property with the sewer system
owned and maintained by said City, in some instances after having
entered into an agreement to pay for the privilege of making such
connection, and in others without having entered into such an
agreement and without permission from the City of Bakersfield,
AND WHEREAS it is deemed fit and proper by the City Council
of the City of Bakersfield that all such persons shall pay to the
City of Bakersfield a reasonable sum for the privilege of having
their property so connected,
NOW, THErEFOrE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD that the City Engineer is hereby authorized, empowered
and instructed to disconnect any and all of said connections unless
the ovmer or person in control and/or possession of the real property
benefited by such connection ~o the sewer system of the City of Bakers-
field shall enter into an agreement with said City of Bakersfield and
pay to said City a reasonable sum of money, in accordance with such
agreement, and shall abide by all of the provisions setlforth in said
agreement.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, at a regular
meeting thereof held on the ~_~ay of April, 1940, by the following
