~I~RIAS, the imediate preservation of the public peace~
property, safety, health and welfare of 'the inhabit~ts of the City
of B~ersfield require the passa8e of a resolution to petition the
Public l~forks A~inistration of the Federal ~Vorks Agency for an
~endatory Grit for additional funds to complete the Sewage Treat~
ment Plsnt noe- under construction by the City of Bakersfield ruder
P.W.A. Docket: Calif. 1892-F; said emergency existing because of
the depletion of funds svailable for construction mder Docket No~
Calif. 1892-F md the necessity of extra'work to be done which was
not included in the original contrac%~
N~ THE~.EFORE BE iT RESOL~fED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield, as follows:

from the Public Works Administration of the Federal Works Agency
in order to complete construction on the Sewage Treatment Plant,

Of this sum the City of Bakersfield proposes to furnish
and hereby pledges fifty-five percent (55%) of the total figure or
Sixty-six Hundred and no/100 Dollars ( $ 8,800o00 )
and hereby requests that the Public Works A&ninistration furnish
forty-five percent (45%) or Fifty-fore~ Hundred and no/lO0
Dollars
