;!::.A3I EMERGENCY RESOLUTION REQUESTING EXTENSION
OF TIE UNDER CONTRACT N~ER i OF 0PPER~N
& C0~PANY, UNDER P.~.A. DOCIGET:.CALIF. 2036-F.
WHEREAS, the immediate preservation of the public peace,
property, safety, heaIlth and welfare of the inhabitants of the City·
of Bakersfield require the passage of an emergency resolution to
petition the Federal Emergency Administration of Public.Works to
extend the time under Contract Number 1 of 0pperman & Conyany, under
P.W.A. Docket: Calif. 2036-F,;.for a period of ten (10) calendar days,
from July 16, t939, to and including July 26, 1939, said emergency
existing because of delay in th~ shipment of the hollow metal doors,
resulting in the loss of five (5)working days; because of delay in
the arrival of the Bronze Plaque, resulting in the loss of three (3)
working days; because of a shortage .of plasterers at the time of
plastering the'Equipment Room cei]jng, resulting in the.loss of two
(2) working days; and because of ~e fact· that Wednesday July 3,
1939, was proclaimed aholiday, resulting in the loss of'one (1).
working day, all of which left too short a period of time under the
above mentioned contract for the Contractors to complete the Work in
the original time allotted to them,
. NOW, THEREFORE, BEIT RESOLVED BY THE COD]~CIL.0F THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD,~as follows:
That the City of Bakersfieldrequests and hereby so requests
an extension of time for a period of ten (10) calendar days, from and
after July 16, 1939, to and including July 26, 1939, under Contract
Number i of 0pperman & Company, underP.W.A. Docket: Calif. 2036-F.
AND BE IT FlIRTHER RESOLVED that liquidated damages with
respect to the above mentioned Contract Number i of 0pperman&
Company, under P.W.A. Docket: Calif. 2036-F be and the same are
hereby waived.
This resolution shall take'effect from and after'its
passage and approval.

I HEREBY. CERTIFY that the foregoing Emergency Resolution·
was·passed and adoptedby the Council of the City of Bakersfield, at
a regular meeting thereof, held on the 17th day of July, 1939, by the
following vote:
