V~.REAS, the immediate preservation of the public peace,
property, safety and welfare of the inhabitants of the City of
Bakersfield require the passage of an emergency resolution providing
for the ifm~ediate cancellation of Bond No. R-7929 and Bond No. 194597,
given by the Bakersfield and Kern. Electric Railway Company, as princi-
pal, and National Surety Corporation as surety,
NOU, THLT~EFORE, BE IT R~0LVED BY TKE COUNCIL OF TKE CITY
OF ZAIGERSFIELD, as follows:
That Bond ii!o. R-7929, dated August 22, 1923, given by the
Bakersfield and Kern Electric Railway Company, as principal, and
National Surety Comupany, as surety, and Bond i~Vo. 194597, dated June
24, 1938, given by the Bakers field and Kern Electric Railway Company,
as principal, and National Surety Corporation, as surety, each in
the principal sun of five thousand dollars (~)5000.00), be and the
sane are hereby cancelled, annulled, and released as to any and all
obligations occurrinG subsequent to June 26, 1939;
AND BE IT FURTi~E"R RESOLVED that the Clerk of the City of
Bakers field send a certified copy of this resolution to the Bakers-
field and Kern Electric Railway Company and also to the National
Surety Corporation.
This resolution shall take effect from and after its
passable and approval.

I IiEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoin~ Emergency Resolution
was passed an~d adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at
a regular meeting thereof held on the%~;~day of Jm~e, 1989, by
