BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
as follows:
That it has ascertained the general prevailing rate of
per diem wages in the locality of said City of Bakersfield for
classes or types of work needed to execute contracts on public
works in accordance with Section 1V70 of the Labor Code of the
State of California, to be as follows:
TRADE OR OCCUPATION
PER DIEM WAGE
HOURLY WAGE RATE
0iler i~6.00 .86
Operators Helper 5.00 .V2
Utility Man 6.00 .86
The rate for any employee not covered in the above schedule shall be
the general prevailing wage and shall not be less than seventy-two
(~;.V2) cents per hour.
Overtime work (except Watchmen and Guards) and work on the follow-
ing days shall be paid for at double the above rates: New Year's
Day, Decoration Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Admission Day,
Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, Sundays.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at
a regular meeting thereof held on the 9th day of January, 1939,
by the following vote:
