WHEREAS, certain funds have accumulated from* the One-Quarter
Cent (¼~) Gasoline Tax Fund fop use on State Highways Within the City
of Bakers field,
AND WHEREAS it is necessary and desirable to expend a por-
tion of said funds in the improvement of Union Avenue between Brundage
Lane and Golden State Avenue,
AND ~HEREAS said work has 'been delegated to the City of. Bak-.
ersfield by the Department of Public Work as Project No. 8o in the
First Supplemental Memorandum of Agreement for Expenditure of One-
Quarter-Cent Gas Tax on State Highway,
AND WHEREAS it is now deemed advisable to have the improve-
ment made under the control and direction of the said Department of.
Public Works,
NOW, THEREFOE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield that the control and direction of said work and im-
provement be and the same is hereby returned tO the Department of
Public Works of the State of California,
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Fred W. Nighbert, Manager
of the City of Bakers field and/or J. Holfelder, Engineer' of the City
of Bakersfield be and they are hereby authorized to execute all nec-·
essary agreements and documents with the State of California relating
to the foregoing improvement.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City Of Bakersfield, at a regular
meeting thereof held on the ay of July, 1936, by the follow-
ing vote:
