A RESOlUtiON SETTING A TI E PSAaE OF
PUBLIC HEARING ON A PROPOSED ZONING ORD-
INANCE INCLUDING CERTAIN PROPOSED CHANGES,
AS SUBMITTED BY THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF TEE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
as follows:
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of
Bakersfield, California, did, l.by a resolution thereof adopted on
the 5rd day of March, 1958, recommend that the City Council of
said City adopt .a proposed zoning ordinance, as referred to in
said~resolution; and.
WHEREAS, said City Council did, on the llth day of May,
1956, re-refer said proposed ordinance to said City Planning
Commission for the consideration of possible changes in said ordin-
ance; and
WHEREAS, said City Planning Commission did, on the 2nd
day of June, 1~56, recommend that certain changes be made in said
proposed ordinance and that said City Council adopt said ordinance
with such changes, which changes are as follows, to-wit:
1. That non-conforming uses be pe~mltted to
enlarge upon the securing of use permits.
2. That the maximum percentage of lot area
ceverage permitted in R-S districts be
increased from 40 to 50 percent and in
R-4 districts from 50 to 60 percent;
AND WHEREAS, said City Council deems that said propo'sed
changes are of sufficient importance that a further public hearing'.
should be held on the same; now,. therefore, be it
RESOLVED that said City Council, in regular meeting
assembled on the 8th day of June, 1~38, does hereby set a certain
time and place for a public hearing on~ said proposed zoning ordin-
ance., including said~propoaed~ changes, at_ which t~e. and place any
and all persons interested in said proposed changes may appear
and be heard thereon, which time and place is as follows, to-wit:
At the hour o~-'8 P..M. on the S2nd day of
June, 19~6, in the Council Chamber in the
City Hall, Bakersfield, California.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk be and
he is hereby directed to give notice of the aforesaid public hearing
by causing four notices of the same to be published in the Bakers-
field Californian, a newspaper: .published and circulated in said
City, one of such notices to b~ published at least ten days before
the date of said hearing, and three of such notices to be published
within the week within which said hearing is to be held.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 8th day of June, 1936,
by the following vote:
