BE IT RESOLVED BY TF~ COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
as follows:
WHEREAS, the Hueneme harbor project will effect a saving
both in time and distance in the importation of lumber, oilwell
supplies, building materials~and merchandise and the exportation
of Kern County products including cotton, oil, cattle and fruits,
and
EKEAS, such saving will be beneficial to the business men
of Bakersfield and the producers and farmers of the trade territory
adjacent thereto, and
WHEREAS, the project will immediately put a considerable
number of men at work for a long period of time and thus materially
relieve the unemployment situation in this state, ~,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the CounCil of the City
of Bakersfield that the Hueneme harbor project receive its'hearty
endorsement and that the Federal Emergency Administration of Public
Works be earnestly petitioned to release the funds allocated by it
to this project at the earliest possible moment so that work can
proceed at once upon this worthy improvement,
.AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution
be forwarded to the Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works
at Washington, D. C.
