HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 11-33 BE IT Ri..~,OLVEL iZY THE CO'UNCiL OF T~ CITY 07' BAKER~LFIELD, as follows: V~I~EREAS, the interests of the City and County of Los Angeles are closely interwoven with the interests of the City of Baker~field and the lower San Joaquin Valley, AND Zi]Z~,i;AS about thirteen years ago the City of Los Angeles was in dire need of additional water, AND L~E~AS in their emergency the residents of the City of Bakersfield and the lower San Joaquin Valley cooperated with the City of Los Angeles in assisting legislation for the development of said water, A~']) V/~IE~jZAS there is now dire need for the development of water for th.e irrigation of the San Joaquin Valley, NO'~V, TIDZZ~I:iO~, BE IT ~ZY-~OLVED that the legislation gcnerallyl known as Central Valley Water Project be and the same is hereby heartily endorsed by this Council, and that it urges and petitions the Council of the City of Los Angeles and the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles to use every legitimate moans to support the measure and assist in procuring an overwhelm- ing vote in favor thereof on December 19, 19~. ..... o0o I HERD~Y CEf~TiI:Y that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on the 28th day of NoVember, 19SS, by the following vote: RYES: BOOEN, GIST, STEMON, SM~'TH, $OLLERS, WRLTERS, W~LSON NOES: ~ RBSEHT,, ~ A~PROVED by me this 28th ~i& i{ o~h'e City of ~akersfie!d.
