WHEREAS, application has been filed with the Calif-
ornia Railroad Commission for a permi't to establish a crossing at
the intersection of the proposed Golden State Avenue and the Southern
Pacific Company' s freight depot spur track in the City of Bakersfield;
AND WHEREAS it is.deemed advisable .by said California
Railroad Commission that if said permit be ·granted 'that the crossing
on James Street should be abandoned,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE 'IT RESOLVED that in consideration
of the granting of said permit by; the California Railroad Commission
that the .Council of the City of B~kersfield will initiate proceedings
for the abandonment of the crossing of the Southern Pacific Company' s
freight depot spur track on James Street, and will use its best efforts
to cause such crossing to be closed.
