RE~OLUTION VrELCOMING LTEUTENANT
COMMAWDER RICH~-RD E. BYRD TO THE
CITY OF BAEER~I~, CALIFORNIA.
WHEREAS, it has been called to the attention of the
City Council of the City of Bakersfield that Lieutenant Commander
Richard E- Byrd will ·visit the'City of Bakersfield, California,
on Thursday-, the 2Vth day of January, 192V; and
WKEREAS, it is the unanimous wish of the City Council
that a proper and fitting resolution be passed-extending to
Lieutenant Commander Rtehard E. Byrd, a"welcoms to the City of
Bakersfield~
NOW T~RE BE IT UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED by ~he Council
of the City of Bakersfield, ~hat as a particular mark of appre-
ciation of the great service performed and the splendid valor
of Lieutenant. Commaz~er Richard E. Byrd, that this' resolution be
passed;. and
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED,- that the Council of the City of
Bakersfield hereby extend to the said Lieutenan~ Commander Richard
E. B~rd, thei~ heartlest welcome to the Oity of Bakersfield; and
BE-IT FUR~ RESOLVED, that a--copy of this resolution
be forthwith delivered to the said Lieutenant Commander Richard
E- Byrd as a token of the welcome extended to him by the City
-of Bakersfield for the invaluable service he rendered.
