OF THE BENEVOLENT PROTECTIVE ORDER
OF ELKS OF BAKERSFIELD IN-SENDING
THE ELK'S DRILL TE~i TO THE NATION-
AL CONVENTION AT PORTLAND OREGON.
NO. 3-25
WHEREAS, it has been called to the attention of the
City Council of the City of Bakersfield, that the Benevolent Pro-
tective Order of Elks of Bakersfield, California, are planning to
send the local Elk's drill team to the National Conventicon to be
held in Portland Oregon;
al~D WHE~S, the City Council of the City of Bakersfield
wish to express its approval and endorsement of such a plan;
NOW THEREFORE, BE iT UNANIi~iOUSLY RESOLVED, by the
Council of ~he City of Bakersfield, that this Council heartily
endorses the movement being sponsored by the local branch of the
Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, by 'sending its local drill
team to the Nation Convention, to take place in Portland Oregon;
THEEFOE,. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that as evidence
of vits .~ endorsement. the City Council of the City of Bakersfield,
hereby requests that a copy of this resolution be mailed to the
Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, at their home in the City of.
Bakersfield, so that when the Elk's drill team of this City are in
Portland, Oregon, it may be used by them for the purpose of showing
this Council.' s endorsement and approval.
I HEREBY CERTIFY, that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, on
the ~/~ day of February, 192~8, by the following vote:
