A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE
i~AYOR A14D TIIE CiTY GLERK TO
ECUTE A 'CONT~kCT ON BEHALF
OF THE CiTY OF BAKeSFIELD
WITH THE STUART S. SMITH
COIdPANY OF SAN FRANCISCO,
CALIFORNIA FOR AN ELGIN STREET
SWEEPER.
BE iT RESOLVED BY THE COUlqCiL OF TIiE CITY' OF BA~ZERS-
FIELD, as follows:
That whereas, the Council of the City of Bakersfield
is desirous of purchasing a street sweeper;
AND WHEREAS, it appears that the .Stuart S. Smith
Company of San Francisco, California have regularly and duly
submitted their bid therefore in accordance with the Motice
inviting Sealed Proposals for the furnishing of said street
sweeper and it appearing that the said 'Stuart S. Smith Company
of San Francisco, California is the lowest responsible bidder
for the furnishing of said street sweeper;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of
the City of Bakersfield does hereby authorize and direct the
Mayor and City Clerk of said City to oxecut~ a :.Contract on
behalf of the City of Bakersfield with the ~ .Stuar~ S. Smith
Company of San Francisco, California for the .furnishing of the
f_o~llowing described machine and property to-wit:
i - 1924 Model ELGIN complete with (patented)
Flexible Gutter Attachraent - electric lighting
system and hub-o-dometer also
i - Extra Broom filled also
6 - Extra Segments for gutter broom also
I - Machine for refilling large broom,
in accordance with the specifications now on file in the office
of the City Clerk of the City Of Bakersfield and are hereby
referred to for further and complete particulars;
AND IT IS FURTHER:~0RDERED that the "C~y'AUditor of
said City is hereby authorized' and directed to draw a warrant to -!-
the said"~g'tuart. S~ Smith Company'of San Francisco, California
in 'the sum of Seven thousand two hundred and ten dollars
· ($V,210.00) for the furnishing of said street sweeper as afore-
said in the amounts and at the times as specified in said con-
tract~

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Bakersfield
on the/~day of July, 1924, by the following vote:
