A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING GRANT CONTAINED
IN DEED DATED March 6th, 1924, WHEREIN
E. M. WALKER and NELL M. WALKER CONVEY
CERTAIN REAL PR 0P t~TY TO THE CITY OF
BAK.~ZRSFIELD AND DIRECTING THE CITY AUDITOR
TO ISSUE A WARRANT IN PAYMENT FOR THE SA~E.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
as follows:
WHEREAS, E. M. WALKER an~-]NELL M. WALKER, have executed
a deed dated March 6th, 1924, wherein E. 'M. Walker and Nell M.
Walker grant certain lands to the City of Bakersfield, and have
delivered said Deed to the Council of the City of Bakersfield,
vesting in the City of Bakersfield all the right, title and interest
of said E. M. Walker and Nell M. Walker, husband and wife, said
property being described as follows:
All of the'north thirty-eight feet, three inches, of
lot one in Block 2, of West Park, a subdivision in the City
of BakerSfield, according to the Map thereof recorded in Book
2, page 6 of Maps, records of Kerfi County.
AND WHEREAS, it' is the desire of the Council of the City
of Bakersfield to have said land as granted to them dedicated for
the use and purpose of a public street;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that this Council does
hereby accept said Grant for and in behalf of said City and do
hereby declare that said .lands as described in said Deed be and
the same .are hereby dedicated a public street; and that the
Auditor of the City of Bakersfield is hereby authorized and empowered
to draw a warrant on the City Treasurer of said City in favor of
E..M. Walker and lqell M. Walker in the sum of sixteen hundred
dollars ($1600.00) as payment for the same.
The Clerk of this Council is hereby authorized and directed
to cause said .Deed and this resC-lution to be filed for record in
the office of the County Recorder of Kern County, California.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that th'e"'foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City ofBakersfie ld on the

WHEREAS, Section 1158 of the Civil Code provides as follows:
"Any Instrument or Judgment affecting the title to or possession of real property may be re-
corded under this Chapter; provided, however, that deeds or grants conveying to a political cor-
poration or governmental agency real estate, or any interest therein, or easements thereon, for
public purposes shall not be accepted for recordation without the consent of the grantee, evidenced
by its resolution of acceptance attached to such deed or grant."
NOW, THEREFORE, It is by the Council ot the City of Bakersfield, State of California, re-
solved that the attached Instrument be and the 'same is hereby accepted and the County Re-
corder is directed to record the same.
