NO. 1-24 A RESOLUTION EXPRESS.iNG .TO THE CITY OF SAN FRANCISCO-AND ITS EXECUTIVE, MAYOR 'JAI~fES ROLPH JR., THE APPRECiATIOn] OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF B~KERSFIELD FOR THE KINDNESS· AND COURTEOUS TREAT- i~iENT EXTENDED THE FOOTBALL TEAM OF THE KERN COUNT¥ Ui~iON HIGH SCHOOL Ai~D THOSE 10F THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD WHO ATTEi~DED THE STATE CHAi~,. PIONSHIP HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL GAME ON DECEtv~BER 22nd, 1923. WHEREAS, the High School football championship of the state of California was played for in San Francisco between the football team of the Kern County Union High School and the football team of the Lick-Wilmerding High School on the ~2nd day of December, 1923; and V~EREAS, the football team of the Kern County Union High School had many enthusiastic supporters in San Francisco witnessing the ~ame; and WHEREAS, very' courteous treatment was extended to the football team of the Kern Courtly Union High School and many persons of the City of Bakersfield while in San Francisco on said occasion on the part of the City of San Francisco and its executive, Mayor James Rolph Jr.; and ~tEREAS, this Council desires on the part of those whQ were-in San Francisco on said occasion to express their appreciation to the City of San Francisco and its executive, Mayor James Rolph Jr., for such kind and courteous treatment; -1- NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, that the CoUncil of said City hereby expresses unto the City of San Francisco and its executive, Mayor James Rolph Jr., their hearty appreciation of the kind consideration and courteous treatment shown the foot- ball team of the Kern County Union High School and those persons from Bakersfield who were. in San Francisco attending the said High School Football' Championship game held on December S2nd, 1923; And it is ordered that a copy of this Resolution be forthwith mailed to Mayor: James Rolph Jr., of San Francisc~ I HEREBY CERTIFY that the fore'going Resolution was passed and adopted at a regular meeting of said City Council held on the ... ay of January, 1924, by the following vote: C o Clerk ofI the Council of the City of .Bakersfield, California.
