A RESC ON AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND
CITY' ~.LERK TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD WITH
THE SEAGRAVE COMPANY OF CLOUMBUS, OHIO,
FOR THE PURCHASE OF A FiRE ENGINE.
BE IT 'RESOLVED BY THE COUr, ICIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, as
fo 1 lo ws:
THAT V'~HEREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield
is desirous of purchasing a standard self-propelled pumping engine
having a capacity"of 1000 gallon~ or more per minut'e for Fire Depart-
ment use, in accordance with the specifications on file in the office
of the City Manager;
AND VvHEREAS, it appears that The Seagrave Company, of
Columbus, Ohio, has regularly and duly submitted its bid therefore in
accordlance with the Notice Inviti, ng Sealed Proposals to Furnish a Fire
Engine; and it appearing that the Seagrave Company i's the lowest re-
sponsible bidder for the furnishinF of said fire engine; and said bid
being accepted by said Council;
NOW TH~]HEFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the
City of Bakersfield does hereby authorize and direct the Mayor and:
City Clerk of said City to execute an agreement on behalf of the City
of Bakersfield with the The Sea~.rave Company for the furnishing of one
Seagrave Model 106 six cylinder combination pumper and hose wagon fully
equipped as in the specifications required, and in exchange for one
Metropolitian 750 gallon capacity, one Clapp and Jones 600 ~allon capacity
and two Nott 700 gallon capacity fire engines at ~1600.00 and balance
of purchase price of 011,560.00 to be paid as follows: ~2,890.00
within ten (10) days after date of delivery of such equipment, and the
sum of ~2,890.00 each year thereafter until the full purchase price
of ~11,560.00 is fully paid with interest at six (6) per cent per
annum on such deferred payments; providin~ said City reserves the right
to pay the whole of such balance due at any time,
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was pas'sed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, on the ~V/ day of
