A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR AND CITY ATTORNEY OF
SAID CITY OF B~f~X<ERSFIELD TO~
EXECUTE AND FILE BEFORE THE
RAILROAD COMMISSION OF THE
STATE OF CALIFORNIA A PETI-
TION FOR AN ORDER FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION OF A SUBWAY AT
THE INTERSECTION OF THE
SAN TE FE RAILROAD TRACKS
WITH UNION AVENUEI IN THE CITY
OF BAERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA.
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the Council of the City
of Bakersfield to cause to be constructed a subway at the inter-
section of the Sante Fe Railroad tracks with Union Avenue in the
City of Bakersfield,
AND WHEREAS, the rules and regulations of said Railroad
Commissionrequire that said Petition be~signed by Petitioner
and its attorney;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD, as follows:
That a petition be prepared by the City Attorney of said
city and filed with the Railroad Commission of the State of
California causing the construction of a subway underneath the
Sante Fe Railroad Wracks at its intersection with Union Avenue
within the City of Bakersfield;
AND IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that Edw. L. Hougham, Mayor
of the City of Bakersfield be and he is hereby authorized to
execute said petition as Mayor of said City for and on behalf of
said City, and that E. F. Brittan, City Attorney be and he is
hereby directed to execute such petition as said city attorney
of said City in accordance with the rules and regulations of
said Railroad Commission.
i HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bskersfield on the
~ day of January, 1923, by the following vote:
