HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 21-22RESOLUTION~ NO. 21-22 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY ATTORNEY TO SIGN AND FILE V~TH THE RAILROAD COi~RiISSION OF THE STATE OF CALIF- ORNIA AN APPLICATION FORAN ORDER ORDERING AND DIRECTING THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAILROAD COMPANY AND THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC COMPANY TO ABANDON FOUR OF ITS RAILROAD TRACKS WHICH CROSS BAKER STREET IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIFLD, WHEREAS, it is the intention of the Council of the City of Bakersfield to apply to the Railroad Commission for an order ordering and directing the Southern Pacific Railroad Company. and the Southern Pacific Company to abandon and remove four of its tracks which cross Baker Street within the City of Bakersfield; AND WHEREAS, the rules and regulations of said Railroad Commission require that said Application be signed by applicant and its attorney; NOW, THEREFOR BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFiELD, as follows: That said application be made to the Railroad Commiss- ion of the State of California for an order ordering and direct- ing the Southern Pacific Railroad Company and the Southern Pacific Company to abandon and remove four of its tracks wHiCh cross Baker Street within the City of Bakersfield; AND IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that Edwo L. Hougham, Mayor of the City of Bakersfield be and he is hereby authorized to execute the said application as Mayor of the City of Bakersfield .for and on behalf of said City, and that E. F. Brittan, City Attorney be and he is hereby directed to execute said application as said City Attorney of said City and in conformity with the rules and regulations of said Railroad Com- mission. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield on the ~7~ day of November, 1922, by the following vote: Ayes: Carlisle Grif~th, Hare, Hougham, Nelson, Robinson, Smith. t ...........................................
