RESOLUTION ACCEPTING GRANT CONTAINED IN
DEED DATEDOCTOBER 6, 1922, WHEREIN
THE KERN COUNTY LAND COMPANY, A CORPORA-
TION, CONVEYS CF_RTAIN REAL PROPERTY TO
THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD FOR STREET PURPOSES.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAF~RSFI~D, as follows:
V~EREAS, THE KERN COUNTY LAND COMPANY, a corporation,
has executed a deed dated the 6th day of October, 192S, with
the request that the same be dedicate~ for the use and purpose of
a public street, said property being more particularly described
as follows, to-wit:
Beginning at a point in the southerly line of 21st
Street, if extended easterly where such line intersects the
U. S. Segregation Line, dividing the Swamp and the 0vetflowed
land from the Government land, and running thence southerly
along said U. S. Segregation line to the northerly line of 20th
Street; thence westerly along the northerly line of 20th Street
to the Southeast corner of Block el5 in the City of Bakersfield,
according to that certain map entitled "Sales i[ap of Kern County
Land Company sho~ing Subl~ivisions of its Additions to the City of
Bakersfield, Kern County, California," and filed for record in
the office of the County Recorder of Kern County, April 19th, 1904;
thence northerly along the easterly line of said Block 215 to
the southerly line of 21st Street, if extended; thence easterly
along said line to the point of beginning. Excepting therefrom
all existing easements or rights of way for canals, ditches or
water ways and other purposes. All in the City of Bakersfield,
County of ~ern~ State of California.
NOW~ THEREFOF~, Be it Resolved: that this Council
does hereby accept said deed for and in behalf of said City.
The City Auditor is hereby authorized and directed
to draw a warrant in favor of the Kern County Land Company, a
corporation, on the City Treasury of sai~ City in the sum of
Two Thousand Seven Hundred Ninety-Five Dollars and Eighty-Six
Cents ($~,V98.86), as payment for said property.
The Clerk of this Council is hereby authorized and
directed to cause said deeds to be filed for record in the office
of the County Recorder, in the County of Kern, State of California.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
'passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bskersfield, on
