A RESOLUTION. AUTHORIZING THE
mAYOR TO E~CUTE AN AGREENI~'T ON
BEHAI.F OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD

S. PAO~__.unD, LID!~ S. REED, ELLA STONER,
AND ~AY STARK FOX FOR THE PURCHASE
OF CERTAIN LAND FOR PARK PURPOSES.
'jTHEREAS~ the Council of the oity of Bakersfield is
desirous of securin~ the necessary land for the estab!ishfnent and
maintenance of a public park,
AND ~EREAS said Virginia S. Brundage, Frances ~. Packard,
Lida S. Reed, Ella Stoner, and may Stark Fox did on April 1st,
1920, agree to sell to the city of B~ersfield a certain piece
or parcel of land to be used for the purposes of a public park
~ the Oity of Bakersfield, oounty of Kern, State of California,
AND ~EREAS, Virginia S. Brundage, Frances S. Packard,
Lida S. Reed, Ella Stoner, and hay Stark ~'ox inadvertently and
erroneously describeathe piece or parcel of land to be sold to
the City of Bakersfield and have omitted therefrom the hereinbelow
described property,
AND ~V}EEREAS, Virginia S. Brundage, Frances S. Packard,
Lida S. Reed, Ella Stoner, and Fay Stark Fox and the City of
Bakersfield ]~ave entered into a supplemental agreement wherein
and whereby they have agreed to sell the following described
parcel of land on the sa~e terms, conditions, limitations and
covenants as in said agreement heretofore made on April 1st, 1920,
NOW THEi~EFORE BE IT RESOLVED that this council does
hereby authorize the Mayor to e~ecute said agreement dated August
7th, 1922, on behalf of the City of Bakersfield with Virginia
S. Brundage, Frances S. Packard, Lida S. Reed, Ella Stoner, and
may Stark Fox wherein and whereby the s~xid Virginia S. Brundage,
.Frances S. Packard, Lida S. Reed, Ella'Stoner and ~ay Stark Fox
agree to sell to the Oity of Bakersfield the following described

piece or parcel of land more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the northerly lithe of 20th Street where
said land intersects the westerly ~ne of the southeast one-qv. arter
of the northeast one-q~arterlof Section 30, Township 29 South,
Range ~8 East, ~o D. B. & ~., and runnin~ thence northerly along
the westerly line of the southeast one-quarter of the northeast
one-quarter of-said section S0 a distance of 313o~ feet; thence
westerly on a line parallel to the northerly line of 20th Street
17o~ feet; thence southerly on a line parallel to the westerly
line of the southeast one-quarter of the northeast one-quarter
of said Section ~0 to the northerly line of ~0th Street; thence
easterly along the northerly line of S0th Street 1~.~ feet to
the point of beginning.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the ~ouncil of the Oity of Bakersfield, on the
