~EAS the City o f Los A~eles 'has made certain power
fili~s on the South ~rk of the. Kern River-,
AND ~EREAS this bei~ one of tne~most.desirable power'
sites on the 'Kern River now undeveloped,
· AND ~AS the City of Baersfield is situated within
the San Joaquin V~ley and that in.said v~ley and adjacent to the
Ceity of B~ersfield there is a large acre~e of developed and arid
lands ve~ productive u~d. er irrigation, but without 'irrigation incapable
of produci~ crops,
AND ~REAS much of this' la~d' is irrigated by application
of power for pmpi~ purposes. in irrigati~ sudn lands,
~' ~EREAS there are .~w -under contempl atiOn,: nmero~s
projects for the. use of power for t~e growth and developement of such
~jacent-lands by irrigation,
'AND ~AS the growth and ~developement of the San Joa-
quin Valley .and'more partic~arly tne'gro~n-and developement of the
la~s ad~acent ~o the City of B~ersfield reflects itself into' the
gro~n and development of the City of Baersfield,
AND ~E~S, the City of 'B~ersfield 'will need such power
for i~ustri~ p~rposes as ~ne sUrreundi~'-la~s are developed,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT.' t~'e City Clerk of tne City
of Bakersfield be instructed to'send a certified copy of' this ·Resolu-
tion of protest to the proper State Board.
