PUBLIC INTEREST ~3ID NECESSITY RE UIE' THE AC-
QUISITION OF CERTAIN RE~i PROPER~ IN THE CITY
OF B~/ERSFIELD FOR THE PURPOSE OF EST~BLISH-
ING AND ~AINTAINING A PUBLIC Pf, PX AND PLAY-
GROUND BY THE CITY OF B~XERSFIELD AND DIRECT-
ING THE COE~iENCEMENT OF PROCEEDINGS TO CON-
DEBiN THE NECESSAatY LAND.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF B~XERSFIELD,
as follows:
WHEREAS public interest and .necessity require the ac-'
quisition of the hereinafter described land and real 'property for the
.purpose of establishing and maintaining a public park-snd playground
in the City of Bakersfield,
NOW THEREFOR, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council o'f the City
of Bakersfield hereby finds and determines that public interest and
necessity require' the acquisition, for the purpose of establishing and
maintaining a public-park and playgromad,' of the following described
land and real property Situated in the City of Bakersfield, uounty of
Kern, State' of Calffornia, and. more particularly' described as follows: ·
Beginni~ng t a point on the southerly line of Twenty-
Recorder o[ sai~ Kern Comty in Book .One (I) . of Ma s at Dsge thir-
teen (1) where the s~.e is intersected by the wes~ bouniarv line o
o.f the ~ern Island Canal thence southwesterly along the west boun-
dar line of said csmal to a point 'v/here the prolongation of the

intersects the west boundary line of said .canal thence at righ
angles westerly alor&g the westerly prolongation 'of said· line 'o
. samd alley, one hundged sixty and five tenths (160.5) feet more
