A RESOLUTION EK~LOYING COUNSEL AND FIXING HIS
COMPENSATION.
'BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CI~iY OF B~iERSFIELD,
as follows:
WKEFS',AS certain suits wherein the City of Bakersfield is
'plaintiff and..the Bakersfield Water Company is defendant are now
pending, one in the Superior Court of the County of Kern and one
in the Police Court of the City of Bakersfield;
AND ~,~EREAS the Council hereby detemines that it is neces-
sary to retain coumsel who is familiar with said. suits to prosecute
and carry on the same;
NOW THEI~EFORE BE IT I~SOLVED that W~LTER OSBORNE Esquire.
b.e and he is hereby retained. and. employed. to carry on and prosecute
the said suits;
AND BE IT FURTt~ RESOLVFj)that the compensation of said
Walter Osborne for services to be rendered in carrying..' on and pro-
securing said. suits be and' the same is hereby fixed. at the s~rn of
One Hundred twenty-five ($125.00) Dollars. and. the Auditor of the
City of Bakersfield. is hereby directed-and authorized. to draw his
warrant in favor of Walter Osborne for the sum of One Hundred Twenty-
five ($125.00) Dollars.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foreg~oing Resolution was passed.
