RE~Z PROPERTY TO PHE CITY OF BPXERSFIELD FOR
STREET PURPOSED.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY QF BPXERSFIELD,
as follows: :
WHEREAS, the CALIF0'f~NIA AVENUE PAPX TP~CT, a Corporation
-has executed a Deed by H. A. JASTRO, as PresiSent, and H. F. Si.iITH,
as Secretary, respectively, of said California Avenue Park Tract,
date~ November 21, 19].9, wherein said corporation grants certain
lands to 'the City of Bakersfield, 'and has delivered said Deed to
the Council of the City of Bakersfield, with the request that s~ne
be used for the purposes set forth in said Deed, said. lands bei~
more particularly described as follows:
Begimi~ at a point in the westerly line of Union Avenue at
its i.nte~secti~n with the northerly line of.Ei~ht Street produced,
as said Union Avenue md said Ei~*ht Stre[t appear u~oon the l.~ia of
the City of Bakersfield recorded'~in the offi'8~ of t~e County ~ecorder
er of K~rn County, November! 25, 1898; thence westerly on and alo~
said northerl llne of Eigho Street produced to the easterly line
of Block 3~' ~owell Add. itmon City o~ Ba~ersfiel~ California; thence
southerly ~.5 feet to the sSuthe~ly line of Ei~cht Street; thence
easterly on and alo~ the southerly line of Ei~t Street produced
o ~es e . line of Union Avenue 82.5 feet to the point of
beginning.
And whereas' said corporation has requested that said land so granted
be dSdicated for the use and purposes of public streets.
NOW TREEFORE, BE tT ESOLVED: That this Council does here-
by accept said Grant for and in behalf of said City', and ~o hereby
declare that said lands as described in said Deed be and the s~e
are hereby dedicated for public streets~
The Clerk of this Council is hereby authorized and directed
to cause said Deed to be filed for record in the office of the
Cobtory Recorder of Kern Comty, California.
