V~IER~S, the law firm of Kaye & Siemon, were pro-
~-essionatly employed and retain. ed pu. rsuar~t to resolution of
this Council duly an:J regularly adopted September 15, 1919, ss
counsel for the city council in that certain action. hereinafter
mer-tioned, the city attorney being disquslii'ied therein., and
WHERF. AS, said law firm has ir-.curred e~enses and
costs, performed ~:~r.d rendered services of value and benefit to
the city and are under obligation to render further professional
services in an~] about that certain litigstior- in the District
Court of Appeal of the State of California, in arid for the
Second Appellate District, entitled Adolph Sidlez, v. City
, Council o~- the City of Bakersfield, et all, and
\;Y'Ht~EAS, the cou~-cil ordered said claim to be paid

payment of such claim on the alleged ground that the employment
of said attorneys by the council was in some manner irregular,
NOW, THER~0RE, in consideration of the premises, be it

RESOLVE, that the previous action of this council
taken on. or about September 15, 1919, directing the employment
of said Kaye & Siemon be, and the same is hereby ratified,
approved and confirm.ed, ~nd be it further,
RESOLV~, that samd claim for such services be spproved
and allowed, and that the clerk-and sudit~r be"inS't'ruct'ed"to'
draw his Warr~r-.t on the City Treasurer in favor of said Kaye &
"Siemon, for said sum 0~ $515.25,
