RESOLUTION DIRECTING PAB~ENT OF LIABILITY
FOR DEATH OF FRANK SPARKS.
WHEREAS., Frank Sparks, was prior to the 17th day of June, 1917,
in the employ of the City of Bakersfield as a Notorcycle Policeman, at
a ss~lary of One Hundred Twenty-five Dollars ($125.00) per month, and
WHEREAS, the said Frank Sparks, on the 17th day of June, 1917, died
as a result of injuries received on the preceding day, while performing
his duties as such Notorcycle Policeman, and
WHEREAS Ninnie:.Sparks, his wife, has paid the funeral expenses,
and
WHEREAS, the said ~Iinnie Sparks has been appointed by the In-
dustrial Accident Commission as the trustee and guardian ad litem of
Eleanor k~. Sparks, LeRoy G. Sparks, and Gertrude M. Sparks, dependent
minor children of said deceased.
NOW, THEREFOPE, be it resolved that the Auditor be directed and
he is hereby directed to draw and deliver a warrant on the City of
Bakersfield, in favo~ of the said Ninnie Sparks, for the use and benefit
of herself and said minor children, in the sum of Three Hundred Fifty~
two and 42/100 Dollars ($352.42), being the amount accrued under the
compensation act for the first fourteen weeks,. at the rate of Eighteen
and 3/100 Dollars ($18.03) per week, and the sum of One Hundred Dollars
($100.00) for funeral expenses, which 'said last named sum shall be de-
ducted from the last weekly payments'accruing under said liability, and
the said Auditor is hereby authorized and directed to draw a warrant in
favor of the said Rlinnie Sparks, 'every two weeks hereafter, for the sum
of Thirty-six and 6/100 Dollars ($36,06), excepting the last payment
which shall be in the sum of $ ~/ , until the total amount of Four
Thousand Three Hundred Twenty-six and 93/100 Dollars-($4326.93) has been
paid.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was adopted by
the Council of the City of Bakersfield, on the 24th day of September, 1917,
