RESOLUTION TO RE%UEST TELBOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF TEn..
COUNTY 0F KERN, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, TO INCLUDE THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD WITHIN THE LIMITS OF A PROPOSED; MOSC~UIT0
ABATEMENT DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, The requisite number of registered voters and
qualified electors Of a proposed district, described as follows,
to-wit:
Commencing at the Northeast corner of Section Three (3)
in Township Twenty-nine (29) South, Range Twenty-eight (28) East;
running thence Southerly a distance of Eight (8) miles to the
Southeast corner of Section Ten (10) in Township Thirty (30)
South, Range Twen~y-eight (28) East; running'thence Westerly a
dtstance~of Siz~(~6) miles to the Southwest corner of Section
Eleven (11) in Township Thirty (30) South, Range Twenty-seven
(27) East; running thence Northerly a distance of Eight (8) miles
to the Northwest corner of Section Two (2), in Township Twenty-~..-~
nine (29) South, Range Twenty-seven (27) East; running thence
Easterly a distance of Six (6) miles to the place of beginning;
all of Mount Diablo Baae and Meridian, in the County of Kern,
State of California, which said proposed district includes all
of the territory of the City of Bakerafield,
Are about to file their petition with the Bo~'ar'~ of Super--~.
visors of the County of i~ern:~'. State of California, r&quest.ing
that said di~t.rict be formed into a Mosquito Abatement Distric~t,
under an Act of the Legislature. of the State of California,
approved May 29, 1915, 'entitled "AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR .THE FORMA-
TION, GOVERNMENT, OPERATION AND DISSOLUTION OF MOS~UIT0 ABATEMENT
DISTRICT~ IN ANY PART OF THE STATE, TO FACILITATE THE EX~.RMINA-
TI0~ OF M08%UIT0S; FLIES AND 0TEER INSECTS: AND TO PROVID]E'.'FOR TBE
ASS]ESS}~NT, LEVY, VOLLECTION AND DISBURSEMENT OF TAXES TEEREIN",
NOW THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the Ceuncil of the City
of Bakersfield, tha~ the said Board of Supervisors be requested
and they are hereby requested-to include within said proposed~
Mosquito Abatement District, all of the territory embraced~within
the corporate limits of the City of Bakersfield.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was passed
by the Council of the City of Bakersfield on the Tenth day of
April, 1916, by the following vote:

RESOLUTION OF TEE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIE,
~KING THE CITY ~fLANAGER PURCHASING AGE~£ FOR TEE CITY.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield,
that the City Manager of sai~ city be, and he is hereby made, the
purchasing agent of the said city, and as such is hereby authorized
to purchase on requisition from the heads of the departments or on
an order of the Council, such materials and supplies as may be required
in the conducting of the city's business; provided~ however, that when
the sum to be expended shall exceed Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars,
such expenditure shall be in conformity with Section 138 of the

Charter of the City of Bakersfield.
