A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEAR-
ING PROTESTS BY PERSONS OWNING REAL PROPERTY
WITHIN TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "CASTR0 NO. 1",
PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF BAKERS-
FIELD ·
WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the Council of 'the City
of Bakersfield on the 22nd day of September, 1960, requesting that
certain uninhabited territory therein described be annexed to and
incorporated within the City of Bakersfield, and
WHEREAS, said petition was signed by the owners of all of
the territory proposed to be annexed.
NOW, THEEFORE, in compliance with the provisions of the Annexation
of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, Chapter 297, as amended, BE IT
RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, as follows:
That the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed
to the City of Bakersfield are described as follows:
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of
California, and being a portion of Section 12, Township
~30 South, Range 27 East, M. D. M.;
Commencing at the northwest (N. ~'f.) corner of the south-
west quarter (S. W. 1/~), of said Section 12; thence
easterly along the northerly boundary of the said south-
west quarter (S. W. 1/~) of Section 12, a distance of
220.00 feet, and to the true point of .beginning of this
description; thence southerly and parallel with the
westerly boundary of the said southwest quarter (S. W. 1/~)
of Section 12, to intersect a line parallel with, distant
30 feet southerly as measured-perpendicular to the
northerly boundary of the southwest quarter of said
Section 12; thence easterly along 'last named parallel
line to intersect the westerly boundary line of the east
half (E. 1/2), of the northeast quarter (N. E. 1/4), of
the northwest quarter (N. W. 1/4), of the southwest
quarter (S- W- 1/~), of said Section 12, a point on the
current corporate boundary of tb~ City of Bakersfield;
thence continuing easterly along last named parallel line,
on and along said corporate boundary and as same is
defined by that certain Annexation designated as Benton
Park No. 4, as adopted February l, 1960, by. Ordinance No.
12765 ' New Serie s, and *which was- certified Marc-h-~l--1960~ .........
by the Secretary of State, State of California, to inter-
sect the southerly prolongation of the westerly boundary

line of the northeast quarter (N. E. 1/4), of said Section
12; thencenortherly along last named southerly prolongation
and along the westerly boundary line~of the said northeast
quarter (No E..1/4), of Section 12, on and along the corpo-
rate boundary of said City, as same is defined by that
certain Annexation designated as Benton Park No. 2,.as
adopted October 15, 1956, by Ordinance'No. ll07, New Series,
and which was certified November 19, 1956, by the said
Secretary of State, to intersect a line parallel with,
distant 30 feet'northerly as measuredlperpendicular to the
~southerly boundary of the northwest quarter(N. W~o 1/~), of
said Section 12; thence westerly. along last named parallel
line and departing from the corporate boundary of the City
of Bakersfield, to intersect a line parallel with, distant
298.35 feet westerly, as measured perpendicular to the
easterly boundary of the southwest quarter (S. W. 1/~), of
the northwest quarter (N. W. 1/~), of said Section 12, as
said last named easterly. boundary is shown on the map of
TRACT NO. 1833, recorded June 9, 1955, in Book 8 of Maps,
at page 200, in the officeof the County Recorder of said
Kern County; thence N. 0° 02' lO" W., and parallel with
last named e~sterly boundary a distance of 278.27 feet;
thence S. 89 56' 18" E., a distance of 1L[3.35 feet; thence
N. 0° 02, 10" W., a distance of 60 feet;~ thence N. 89°-56'
18" W., a distance of 1~3-35 feet; thence N. 0° 02' 10' W.,
a distance of 292.00 feet to intersect. the northerly boundary
of the South-half (S. 1/2), of the southwest quarter (S. W.
1/~), of the northwest quarter (N. W. 1/~)', of said Section
12; thence. N. 89° 56' 18' W., alon~ last named northerly
boundary adistance of 805.94~feet, to intersect a line
parallel with the westerly boundary of the northwest quarter
(N. W. 1/~), of said Section 12, distant 220 feet easterly
as measured along the southerly boundary of the said north-
west quarter (N. W. 1/~); thence S. 0° 02' 45" Eo, along
last named parallel line to intersect the southerly boundary
of the northwest quarter (N. W. 1/4), of said Section 12, a
distance of 660.1~ feet to the true point of beginning, con-
taining!5.201 acres of land more or less.
That a designation appropriately naming such territory is
"CASTRO NO. l".
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Monday,'the 31st day of October,
1960, at the hour of eight o'clock P. M., in the Council Chambers
of the City Hall, 1501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California, is
the time when and the Olace where any person owning real property
within such territory so proposed' to be annexed and having any

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted by the CounctI of the City of Bakersfield, at a regular meeting
thereof~ held on the 26th day of September, 1960, by the following
