RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD APPLYING FOR STATE MATCHING
FUNDS FOR URBAN EXTENSION OF FAS ROADS.
82-60
~S, Section l~3.3 of the Streets and Highways Code
of. the state of California provides that certain funds are available
for improvement of Federal Aid Secondary Highways within Urban Areas,
and
WHERE4S, the City of Bakersfield desires to improve Union
Avenue (Federal Aid Secondary 887) between Irene street and Manor
Street, and
2.
Union Avenue is part of an approved City-County system
of major arterials integrated with the state Freeway
System.

3.' The City is cognizant of the effect of the pro-
posed financing in relation to the statutory formula
contained in Section 188.4 of the streets and High-
ways Code appertaining to the apportionment of
state Highway construction monies among the counties.
4. The present right of way width of 115.5 feet on Union
Avenue is adequate for the ultimate facility.
5. The city has appropriated, or will appropriate suffic-
ientfunds to complete its share of the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Bakers-
field hereby applies tor $77,500.00
of funds made available under
the provisions of Section 143.3 of the Streets and Highways Code of
the state of California for use on Union Avenue between Irene street
and Manor Street.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 8th day of August, 1960, by the
following vote:
