A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEAR-
ING PROTESTS BY PERSONS OWNING REAL PROPERTY
WITHIN TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "ASPHALTO NO. I",
PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF BAKERS-
FIELD.
WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the Council of the City
of Bakersfield on the 25th day of July, 1960, requesting that
certain uninhabited territory therein described be annexed to and
incorporated within the City of Bakersfield, and
WHEREAS, said petition was signed by the owners of all of the
territory proposed to be annexed.
NOW, THEREFORE, in compliance with the provisions of the
Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, Chapter 297, as

amended, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield,
as follows:
That the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed
to the City of Bakersfield are described as follows:
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of California,
and being a portion of Section 13, Township 30 South, Range 27
East, M. D. M., and also a portion of Section 18, Township 30
South, Range 28 East, M. D. M., and as said Sections 13 and 18 are
shown on the "Kern County Sales Map No.1 of Lands of J. B. Haggin",
filed for record May 3, 1889, in the office of the County Recorder
of said Kern County:
Beginning at the southwest (S. W.) corner of Lot 2 in said Section
13; thence easterly along the southerly boundary of said Lot 2 and
the easterly prolongation thereof to intersect the easterly
'boundary of said Section 13; thence continuing easterly along the
westerly prolongation of the southerly boundary of Lot 5 in said
Section 18, to intersect a line parallel with and distant 30 feet
easterly, as measured perpendicular to the westerly boundary of
said Section 18, said parallel line also being the easterly boundary
line of that certain public road of 60 feet in width between said
Sections 13 and 18, and as shown on above referred to Map, commonly
known as South "HIl Street, and also known as Kern Island Road;
thence northerly along said last named parallel line,(along the
easterly boundary line of said South "H" Street), on and along the
corporate boundary of the City of Bakersfield as same is defined
by that certain Annexation designated as White Lane No.2, as
adopted June 3, 1957, by Ordinance No. 1122, New Series, and
certified July ~, 1957, by the Secretary of State, State of Cali-
fornia, to intersect the southwesterly prolongation of the south-
easterly right of way line of the Southern Pacific Railroad, as

said Railroad right of way is shown on the map of Tract No. 1817,
recorded November 23, 1956, in Book 9 of Maps at page 104, in
the office of the said County Recorder; thence continuing northerly
along said easterly boundary line of South "Hit Street, on and
along the corporate boundary of said City as same is defined by
that certain Annexation designated as White Lane No.1, per Reso-
lution approving said Annexation adopted March 26, 1957, by the
Board of Supervisors of said Kern County, as recorded in Minute
Book 115, page 21, records of said Board of Supervisors, to
intersect a line parallel with, distant 30 feet southerly, as
measured perpendicular to the northerly boundary~ of said Section
18; thence westerly along last named parallel line, on and along
the corporate boundary of said City as same is defined by that
certain Annexation designated as Planz Park, as adopted January 2,
1951, by Ordinance No. 898, New Series, and certified February 5,
1951, by the said Secretary of State, to intersect a line parallel
with, distant 30 feet westerly, as measured perpendicular to the
westerly boundary of said Section 18, said last named parallel
line being the irJ'esterly boundary line of said South uHtt Street;
thence southerly along last named parallel line, (along the
westerly boundary line of said South uEtt Street), and departing
from the corporate boundary of the City of Bakersfield, to inter-
sect the southerly boundary of the North half (N. 1/2), of Lot 1,
in said Section 13; thence westerly along last named southerly
boundary to intersect the westerly boundary of said Lot 1; thence
southerly along the westerly boundary of said Lot 1, and along
the westerly boundary of Lot 2 in said Section 13, to the South-
west (S. W.) corner of said Lot 2, the point of beginning, con-
taining an area of 30.774 acres of land, more or less.
That a designation appropriately naming such territory is
"ASPHALTO NO. lit.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Monday, the 29th day of August,
1960, at the hour of eight 01clock P.M., in the Council Chambers of
the City Hall, 1501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California, is the
time when and the place where any person owning real property within
such territory so proposed to be annexed and having any objections
to the proposed annexation may appear before the Council of the City
of Bakersfield, and show cause why such territory should not be annexed.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 25th day of July , 1960,
by the following vote:
