HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 70-60RESOLUTION N0. 70-80 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE VACA- TION OF A PORTION 0F TRUXTUN AVENUE, IN SAID CITYo WHEREAS, on the 27th day of June, 1960, the Council of the City of Bakersfield, pursuant to the provisions of. the "Street Vaca- tion Act of 1941," being Division 9, part 3, (Sections 8300, Et. Seq.) of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, passed and adopted its Resolution of Intention No. 754, declaring its intention to order the vacation of a portion of Central Avenue, now known as Truxtun Avenue in the City of Bakersfield, State of California, and WHEREAS, said Council did fix a time and place for hearing all.persons interested in or objecting to said proposed vacation, which said hearing was held on the 18th day of July, 1960, after notices were duly posted as required by law, and WHEREAS, this Council after duly considering the matter, does hereby find and resolve as follows: 1. That that portion of Central Avenue, now known as Truxtun Avenue, situate within that portion of the City of Bakersfield, which was formerly known as Sumner, adjacent to and northerly of Lots 21 and 22 and also being adjacent to and northerly of a triangular parcel of land lying northerly of Lot 21, and westerly of Lot 22, said lots and said triangular parcel being a portion of Block 127, and as said Central Avenue, said lots, said triangular parcel, and said Block are shown on that certain map filed January 12, lee9 in Book I of Maps, at p~ges l~and 16 in ~h? ~office of the County Recorder of Kern County, California, more particularly described as follows, is unnecessary for present or prospective public street purposes: Beginning at the northwest corner of said lot 21; thence N. 16° 14' 22" E., along the prolongation of the westerly boundary orsaid lot 21 a distance of 24.44 feet; thence S. 73° 45' 38" E., parallel with the southerly boundary of said lot 21, a distance of 28.07 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve, ?m2~ic~;the radial center of said curve bears N. 16° 2 E thence easterly along said curve, concave to the northeast, through a central angle of 14° 51' 11", with a radius of 397-75 feet, an arc distance of 103.11 feet, to intersect the northerly prolongation of the easterly boundary of said Lot 22, and from which the radial center of said curve bears N. 1° 23' 11" E., distant 397.75 feet; thence S. 16° 14' 22" W., along last named northerly prolongation a distance of 0.14 feet to the northeast corner of said Lot 22; thence N. 89° 53' 08" W., along the northerly boundary of said lots 21 and 22 and said triangular parcel, all in said Block 127, a distance of 135.36 feet, to the northwest corner of said lot 21, the point of beginning. 2. That said portion of Central Avenue, now known as Truxtun Avenue, be and the same is hereby closed up, vacated and abandoned for public street purposes, subject to and in conformity with said Resolution of Intention No. 754. Reference to said Resolution of Intention is hereby made for further particulars. 3- The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and shall cause a certified copy hereof, attested by the Clerk under the seal of the City to be recorded in the office of the County Recorder of the County of Kern, California. ...... o0o ......
