RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAjCERSFIE.LD, ORDERING THE VACATION
OF A PORTION OF 16TH STREET, IN SAID
CITY.
VtHEREAS, on the 9th day of May~ 1960, the Council of the City
of Bakersfield, pursuant to the provisions of the ?'Street Vacation Act
of 1941", being Division 9, Pe. rt 3, of the Streets and Highways Code
of the State of California, passed and adopted its Resolution of Inten-
tion No. 751, declaring its intention to order the vacation of a portion
of 16th Street, City of Bakersfield, California, and
WHEREAS, said Council did fix a time and place for hearing all
persons interested in or objecting to said proposed vacation, which
said hearing was held on the 31st day of May, 1960, after notices were
duly posted as required by law, and
WHE. RE~S, this Council after duly considering the matter, does
hereby find and resolve as follows:
l, That that portion of 16th Street~ situate within the City of
Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California, and being a portion
of Section 30, Township 29 South, Range 28 East, MoD.M., and more parti-
cularly described as follows, is unnecessary for present or prospective
public street purposes:
Beginning at the northwest corner of Block 328; thence northerly
along the prolongation of the ~.~esterly boundary of said Block
328, tO the southwest corner of Block 311; thence easterly along
the northerly boundary of said 16th Street; on and along the
southerly boundary of said Block 311, to the southeast corner
thereof; thence southerly along the prolongation of the easterly
boundary of said Block 311, to the northeast corner of said Block
328; thence westerly along the southerly boundary of said 16th
Street, on and along the northerly boundary of said Block 328;
to the norttwest corner thereof, the point of beginning, and
as said 16th Street, and as said Blocks 328 and 311, are shown
on that "Map of the City of Bakersfield" filed for Irecord:

November 2~, 1898, in Book I of Maps, at pages 13 and 14, in
the Office of the County Recorder of said Kern County.
2. That said portion of 16th Street be and the same is here-
by closed up, vacated and abandoned for public street purposes, subject
to and in conformity with the reservations and exceptions contained in
and contemplated by said Resolution of Intention No. 751o Reference
to said Resolution of Intention is hereby made for further particulars.
3. The City !Clark shall certify to the passage of this Reso-
lution and shall cause a certified copy hereof, attested by the Clerk
under the seal of the City, to be recorded in the office of the County
Recorder of the County of Kern, California.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, at a regular meeting
thereof, held on the Slst day of MaY , 1960, by the follow-
ing vote:
