HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 54-60RESOLUTION N0. 54-60 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEAR- ING PROTESTS BY PERSONS 0xfiNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "WILLIAMS N0.2" PROPOSED TO BE ANh~XED TO THE CITY OF BAKERS- FIELD° WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the Council of the City of Bakersfield on the 26th day of May, 1960, requesting that certain un- iD~abited territory therein described be annexed to and incorporated within the City of Bakersfield, and WEREAS, said petition was signed by the owners of all of the territory proposed to be annexed. NOW, THEREFORE, in compliance with the provisions of the Annexa- tion of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, Chapter 297, as amended, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, as followsc That the bom~daries of the territory so proposed to be annexed to the City of Bakersfield'are described as follows: A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of California, and being a portion of the Northeast Quarter (N.E. 1/4) of Section 28, Township 29 South, Range 28 East, M.D.M.; Beginning at the intersection of the westerly boundary of the Northeast quarter (N.E. 1/4) of said Section 28. and the northeasterRy bounda~aof Block 168, and as said inter- section is shown on the ' p of the P,.I. Co. Land" filed for record May 10, 1901, in Book i of Maps, at page 51, in the office of the County Recorder of said Kern County; thence northerly along the said last named westerly boundary, on and along the corporate boundary of the City of Bakersfield as said corporate boundary was established by the Charter of the City of Bakersfield, ratified and approved January 23, 1915, to intersect the ~ uthwesterly boundary line of that certain alley of 20 feet in width, which runs north- westerly and southeasterly through Block 165, and as said Block and alley are sho~m on said Map~ thence southeasterly, departing from said corporate boundary~ on ~nd along said southwesterly boundary line of said alley totHe N6rtheast ~ corner of Lot 32 in said Block 165; thence southwesterly along the southeasterly boundary of said Lot 32 and along the southwesterly prolongation thereof, to the Northeast corner of said Block 168; thence northwesterly along the northeasterly boundary of said Block 168, on and along the It corporate bo~mdary of the City of Bakersfield as same is defined by that certain annexation designated as WillJams No. I as adopted January 2, 1957, as per Minute Book ll3, Page 271, Records of the Board of Supervisors of said Kern County, to intersect the westerly boundar~ of the Northeast quarter (N.E. 1/4), of said Section 2 , the point of beginning, containing 1,077 acres of land, more or less. That a designation appropriately naming such territory is "WILLIAMS N0. BE IT FURTHE. R RESOLVED, that Tuesday, the 5th day of July, 1960, at the hour of eight o'clock P.M., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, l~01 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield~ California, is the time when and the place where any person owning real property within such terri- tory so proposed to be annexed and having any objections to the proposed annexation may appear before theCouncil of the City of Bakersfield, and show cause why such territory should not be annexed.. ..... 0o0 ..... I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, at a regular meet- ing thereof, held on the 31st day of May, 1960, by the following vote: AYES: BALFANZ, BENTLEY, CARNAKIS, COLLINS, CROES, DOOLIN, STIERN, ABSENT> ~'J ~ ....
