',A ·RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL ,0F 'THE CITY-OF
BAKERSFIELD FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEAR-
ING PRO TESTS BY. PERS0 NS. QWNING REAL PRO PERTY
WITHIN TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED.
WHEREAS, a .pe'tition was filed With the Counci,1 of the City
of Ba~ersfield on the 14th day of. September, 1959, requesting that
certain'uninhabited territory therein described be annexed to and
incorporated within the City of B~kersfield,' and ·' '.,
"'WHEREAS, said pet'ition was signed by the'0wne~'S of ~all of the
territory proposed to 'be annexed.
NOW,-THEREFORE, in compliance with 'the provisions .o'f the
Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 19.39, Chapter 297, as
amended, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, as
follows: ~..
That the boundaries of the'rterritory' s.q proposed. to be annexed
to the City of Bakersfield ar, e desCriBed as" follows:
A parcel of land ,situate in the County of Kern'; State of California,
and being a portion of Sections 15'and 16 ,· '-ToQnship 29.. South, Range
28 East, M. D. M.; Beginning at the '~outheast (S. E.) corner of
the southwest quarter (S. W. 1/4).of said ,Section 15; thence
westerly along:the southerly boundary of'the said southwest quarter
(S. W. 1/4), of Section 15, to intersect a lin'e parallel with and
dis~an~ 55, feet '.easterly, as measured perpendicular to the westerly
· boundary of said Section 15;. thence northerly along last named paral-
· lel line to intersect the easterly prolongation of a line parallel
with and distant 55 'feet northerly as measured perpendicular to the
. southerly boundary of said Section 16; then'c.e westerly along, last
'named ,prolongation of said line parallel with the ..sOutherly boundary
of Section 16 to intersect a line paralleI with and distant .55 feet
westerly as measured perpendicular to the easterly boundary of said
Section 16, a point on the corporate boundary of the: City of Bakers'

westerly b.oundary line of Mt. Vernon Avenue,-·of'll0 feet in width, on
and along said corporate boundary as same is defined by that' ~ertain

the northerly boundary of the south half (S. 1/2), of ·the south

along 'the corporate boundary of said Ci-ty-, as same is defined
· by that .certain annexation designated as "College Heights No.
by Ordinance No. 1202, New Series~, adopted September 29,
and certified October 30, ~1958, by the said Secretary of State, to
the northeast corner of the said south half (S. 1/2), of the South
half (S. 1/2), of the southeast quarter (S. 'E. 1/4) ,' or Section 16;.

easterly along the last named no~rtherly boundary, and departing
from the corporate boundary of.the City of Bakersfield, to intersect
the easterly boundary of the so~ithwest quarter'. (S. W. 1/4) of said
Section 15; thence southerly along.last named easterly boundary to
the SOutheast corner of the said southwest-quar:ter (S. W. ~/4),

That-a designation appropriately.naming such territory is
"COLLEGE 'HEIGHTS NO . 6." .- ' "'

1959, at the hour of eight o"clo'ck P.M., inl the CounCil .CHambers of
the City' Hall, ' 1501 Truxtun ·Avenue ~ Bakersfield,' California, is the
'time when and the place where any person .owning real pro.perty..within
such territory'so proposed to be annexed and having 'any. obj.ections to
the proposed.annexation may appear before the Councii::of the City.of
Bakersfield and 'show cause why such'territory should not be annexed.

.I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolutiohwas passed and
'adoptedby the CoUncil of the. City of Bakersfield, at aregularmeeting
thereof held on'the 21st day of September, 1959, by the following vote:
