RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD WAIVING PUBLIC HEARING IN THE
MATTER OF THE RELOCATION AND IMPROVEMENT AS
A FREEWAY, OF A PORTION OF STATE HIGHWAY ROUTE
57, IN KERN COUNTY, BETWEEN M STREET AND 2.7
MILES EAST OF MORNING DRIVE.
WHEREAS, ~he State of California through its Department
of Public Works, Division of Highways, has submitted to the Calif-
ornia Highway Commission a proposed location for a freeway along
~evised location of State Highway VI-Ker-57-Bkd,E, between M street
and 2.7 miles east of Morning Drive, and
WHEREAS, said Commission has authorized the State Highway
Engineer te give public notice of the Commission's intention to
consider the adoption ef said freeway, and to hold or cause to be
held a public hearing on the matter of the adoption of said freeway,
if requested by the Council of the City of Ba~mrsfield, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Notice of Intention on Freeway
Location given by the Commission dated August .27, 1958, a request
dated September 2, 1958, was duly filed with the City Clerk of the
City of Bakersfield on September 4, 1958, together. with a copy of
said Notice of Intention, requesting that the Council specify its
request for such hearing OF its waiver thereof, and
WHEREAS, it is the conclusion of the Council that such
public hearing will not be necessary before the California Highway
Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City
of Bakersfield hereby waives a public hearing before the California
Highway Commission prior to adoption of the location-of the freeway
on State Highway VI-Ker-57-Bkd,E, between M Street and 2.7 miles east
of Morning Drive.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that=-the foregoing Resolution was

at a regular meeting thereof held on the 15th day of September,
1958, by the following vote::
