RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA, DETERMINING
THAT THE PUBLIC INTEREST AND NECESSITY
DEMAND THE ACQUISITION AND CONSTRUCTION
OF A CERTAIN MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENT, AND
MAKING FINDINGS RELATING THERETO.
The Council of the City of Bakersfield, California,
does hereby RESOLVE AND DETERMINE as follows:
Section 1. That the public interest and neceSsitY
demand the acquisition and construction by the City of
Bakersfield of a certain municipal improvement, to wit: a
municipalauditorium and public assembly' building suitable
for conventions, trade shows, sports and athletic events,
exhibitions, musical and dramatical presentations and group
meetings, together with landscaping and off-street parking
facilities therefor and including the acquisition of all
land, furniture, furnishings, 'apparatus, equipment and-
'other property necessary therefor. The .estimated cost of
said municipal improvement is the sum'of $3,750,000 which
includes any or all of. the following..: (a) legal or other fees
incidental to or connected with the authoriza'tion~ issuance and
sale of the bonds, and (b) the costs of printing the bonds
and other costs and expenses incidental to or connected with'
the issuance and sale of the bonds.
Section 2. That said municipal improvement requires
an 'expenditure greaterthah"the amount allowed for it by the
annual tax levy.
Section 3. That said municipal .improVement is
necessary and convenient to Carry out the objects, purposes
and powers of the City of,Bakersfield.

was duly adopted by the Council of said city by a vote of
more than two-thirds of the members thereof and was approved
by the Mayor of said city at a regular meeting
of ·said Council held'on the 18th day of August, 1958, and
that it was adopted by 'the following vote, to wit:
