A RES~LUTION ~OF THE., COUNCIL OF .THE CITY OF B~XERS-
FIELD FIXING A TII~E AND PLACE FOR t~ZARiNG pROTESTS
BY PERSONS OWNING-RE.~L PROPERTY WITHIN TERRITORY
PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED.
WHEREAS, a petition was filed ~.~Tith the Council of the City
of Bakersfield on the 2~th day of June, 1958, requesting that certain
uninhabited territory therein described be annexed to and incorporated
within the City of E, akersfield-
I~TEREAS, said petition was signed by the owners of all of the
territory proposed to be annexed.
NOW, THEREFORE, in compliance with the provisions of the ~nnexa-
· tion of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, Chapter 297, as amended, BE
IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows:
That the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed
to the City of Bakersfield are described as follows:
That certain parcel of land situate in the County of tienn,
State of California, and being a portion of Section 32,
Township 29 South, Range ~8 East, M. D. M., more particu-
larly described as follows:
Beginning st the south~:est (S. W.) corner of the southeast
quarter (S. E. 1/~) of the northwest quarter (N. kr. 1/4),
of said Section 32; thence northerly along the westerly
boundary of the said southeast quarter (S. E. 1/4), of
the northwest quarter (N. W. 1/4), to the northwest (N. W.)
corner thereof; thence easterly along the northerly boundary
of the said southeast quarter (S. E. 1/4), of the north~^;est
quarter (N. W. 1/4), to intersect a line parallel with, and
'distant 11.25 feet easterly from, and as measured perpen-
dicular to, the easterly boundary of Lot 4, Block 18D, as
said Lot 4, Block 18D, are shoxvn on the "Corrected Map of
the Borgwardt Tract," filed for record January 12, 1907,
in Book i of Maps, at page 190, in the Office of the County
Recorder, of said Kern County, said last named parallel line
also being the westerly boundary line of diminished Baker
Street, of 60 feet in width, a portion of County Road No.
~; thence southerly along the southerly prolongation of
last named parallel line, to intersect a line parallel ~~;ith,
and distant 30 feet southerly from, and as measured perpen-
dicular to the northerly boundary of sald Southeast quarter
(S..E- 1/4), of the northwest quarter (N. W- 1/41, the last
'-named parallel line also being the southerly boundary line
of a portLon of County Road No. 66~, a westerly extension
of Potomac Avenue, also kno:~n as Lawson Street; thence
easterly along last nsr~.ed parallel line, and as defined
by that certain Deed to the County of Kern, recorded March
10, 1927, in Book 169, at page [~ll, Official Records, in
-the Office of the' Said County Recorder, to intersect the
Easterly boundary of the said southeast quarter (S. E.
of the northwest quarter (N. ~'~. 1/4) ; thence continuing
easterly to intersect a line parallel with, and distant
30 feet easterly from, and. as measured perpendicular to
the last above named easterly boundary, said last named
parallel line also being the easterly boundary line of
South King Stalest, s ~ortion of County'Road No. 6~3; thence
southerly along ssi8 ~ast named parallel line, on and along
the corporate boundary of the City of Bakersfield, and as
said corporate boundary is defined by that certain annexa-
tion designated as the "Sunset-Mayflower District," annexed
by a Special Election held on December 19, 19~0, an8 approved
by 0rainsrice No. 896, Ne~.~ Series, adopted December 26, 19%0,
and certified January 29, 1'9%1, by the Secretary of State,
State of California, to intersect the southerly botundary
of the northeast quarter (N. E. 1/4), of said Section 32;
thence 'westerly, and departing from the corporate boundary
of the City of Bakersfield, along the last named southerly
boundary to the southeast (S. E.) corner, of the southeast
quarter (S- E. 1/4), of the Northwest quarter (N. W. 1/4),
of said Section 32; thence continuing westerly along the
southerly boundary of the said southeast quarter (S. E. 1/4),
of the northwest quarter (N. W. 1/4) to the southwest (S. ~.)
corner thereof, and to the point of beginning, containing
40..623 acres of land, more or less.
That a designation appropriately naming such territory is "UNICN
CEI-,~TFRY NO. 1 ·"
' BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Monday, the 4th day of August, 1958,
at the hour Of eight o'clock P. M., in the Council Chambers of the City
Hall, 1501 Tr~xtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California, is the time when and
the place where any person owning real property within such territory so
proposed to be annexed and having any objections to the proposed annexa-
tion may appear before the Council of the City of Bakersfield and show
cause why such territory should not be annexed.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 30th day of June, 1958, by the following
vote:
