.WHEREAS, the Governmental Efficiency Committee did on
the. 28th day of April, 1958, file its recommendation to the Council,
together with a report from the City Manager, recommending certain
changes in the operation and management of the Public Works Department,
a tentative chart ef which changes is on file in the office of the
City Clerk, and
WHEREAS, the Council did approve said 'recommendations, in
the interest of the efficient operation of said Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that all of the duties
heretofore assigned te the Director of Public Works sb~ll henceforth
be performed by the City Manager, as shown on the chart hereto at-
tached and made a part.of this resolution~ until such time as a
Director of Public Work8 shall be appointed.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the ~ouncil oft he 'City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the/5thday of May, 1958, by the following
vote:
'City Clerk and Ex-0fficio Clerk of the
Council of the City of Bakersfield.
