A RESOLUTION OF THE COU~tCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE
VACATION OF AN ALL~Z LYi~IG NORTil OF COL-
~BUS STREET,. AND BET~! I~_I~Y STREET
AND C0t'IE~TEET, IN SAID CITY. -
WHEREP. S, on~he tTthday of March, !9~8, the Council of
the City of Bakersfield, pursuant to the'provisions of the "Street
Vacation Act of 1941," being Division 9, Part 3, of the Streets
and Highways Code of ~he State"ol California, passed and adopted
its Resolution of Intention No. 735, declaring its intention'to
order the vacation of an alley lying north of Cclumbus Street and
between Haley Street and Cornell Street, in the City of Bakersfield,
State of California, and
W~HEEEAS, said Council did fix a time and place for hearing
all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed vacaticD,
which said hearing was held on the 7th day of April, 19~8, after
notices were duly posted as requireo by law, and
W}EREAS, this Council after duly considering the matter,
does hereby find and resolve as follo~.~s:
'1. That that certain alley, 20 feet in width, situate
in the City of Bakersfield, County of liern, State of California,
lying nor'th of Columbus Street, ~d between Haley Street and Cornell
Street, in Section 16, Township ~9 South, Range 28 East, M. D. ~.,
more particularly described as follows, is u'~mecessary for present
or prospective public street purposes:
Beginning at the southeast (S.E.) corner of Lot 199;
thence N. 0c 26' %2" W., along the westerly boundary

feet, to intersect a line parallel with, distant 20
feet southerly from, and as measured perpondicular to
the northerly boundary of Lot 202; thence No 89c 33~ 08"
E., along the easterly prolongation of last named paral-
lel line a 8istance of 20.00 feet, to intersect the
easterly boundary line off said alley; thence 8.0c 26~ 52"
E.,'along last named easterly boundary line, a distance
of 205.81 feet,~ ~to the southuest (S.W-) cottier of Lot 198,
a point on the northerly boundary line of Colu:~zbus Street;

last named northerly boundsr'~ line, s all stance of 20.00

recorded April l, 1955, in Book 8 of Maps at page 1~9,
in the office of the County Recorder of ZZern County,

'.2. That said alley =be~ and the same is hereby closed. up,
vacated and abandoned for public street purposes, subject to and
in conformity with said Resolution of Inte~,tion ~o. 735. Eeference
to said Re~olution of Intention Is hereby made for further p'articu-
lars.
3'. ' The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
Resolution and shall cause a certified copy hereof, attested by the
Clerk under the seal of the City to be recorded in the office of
the County Recorder Of the.County of Kern, California.
