WHEREAS, the 'Bakersfield Exchange Club has sponsored "Crime
Prevention Week" annually sin~;'195~, with the cooperation of the
major 'law enforcement-.agencies of the Greater Bakersfield Metropolitan
area and the military 'agencies stationed in our community, and
WHEREAS., through the COmbined efforts of the various indi-
viduals and organizations of $k~is cormmunity, the release of publicity
by all of the news-release agencies, and the donation of time and
material by interested groups, the progrs~ of "Crime Prevention Week"
recently concluded was again successful and most enlightening, and
WHETS, this ,Council is aware of .the work and time expended
by the various-participants in gathering material and items for the
displays and exhibits which were featured at the "0~en House" held
in the Bakersfield P®lic. eDepa~tment Building as the conclusion of
Crime Prevention Week, which Open House was attended by some 10,000
persons.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE I~ RESOLVED by the Council of ~he City of
'Bakersfield, that this COuncil does hereby commend the Bakersfield
Exchange Club and all participating individuals, law er~,~orcement
agencies and other organizations, for their enthusiastic support and
assistance in making "Crime Prevention Week"· a success and for providing
an opportunity to thousands of school children and adults to' view at
first hand the instruments an. dlmanner of preventing, detecting and
combating crime in its various forms.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held en the 24th day of February, 1958, by the
following vote:
