WHEREAS, on February 4, 19~8, there was filed with the City
Clerk of the City of Bakersfield a copy of Notice of Intention to'.
Circulate Petition Rela~lng to Annexation of Certain Territory to
the City of Bakersfield Under the ADaexation Act of 1913 pertaining
to territory designatedas Spruce Addition No. l, together with an
affidavit of publication of saidnotlcs showing publication thereof
on January 27, 19~8, in The Bakersfield Californian, a newspaper of
.general circulation published in the City of Bakersfield;.and
WHEREAS, the Annexation Act of 1913 provides that the legis-
lative body may adopt a resolution acknowledging receiptof the
notice and approving ~he circulation of the petition~
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL~D by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield:
1. That the receipt of the notice and affidavit cf publica-
tion be 'and the same is hereby acknowledged,' and that approval be and
is hereby given for the circulation of the petition for aru.~exation.
of that certain territory designated as Spruce· Addition No. I twenty-
one days after the publication of said notice.
2. The City Clerk shall= certify to,~he adoption of this
resolution.
I HF~REBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution ~ms passed
and adepted by the council of~,the city of Bakers£iold at a regular
meeting thereof held on. the 10th .day of Februarys 1958, by the
