h~TERFAS, on the llthday of March, 1957 and on th.o t2th
day of March, 1957, the Council of the City of Bakersfleld and
Board of Supervisors of the County of Kern, respectI!vely, passs'd and
adopted a Joint Resolution Establishing DaMersfield-XernCcm~ty Area-
Planning Commission, and
WHEREAS, it is the desir~ of said 20ard of Supervisors and
said City CoUncil, to amend said. a~crementioned Resolution~
NOW, THEP~EFORE,.BE'IT JOINTLY HESOLVED by the Ccun.cil
the City of Bakersfield and the Board of Supervisors of tbs..Oounty
of Kern, that said aforementioned Joint Resolution Establishing.
.Bakersfield'Kern County Area PtarJ~ing Conmission, be and 'the same is
hereby araended by adding thereto tl~ee new pars. g~apks to be numbered
6, 7 and 8, which said paragraphs.~shall rS~d as follows:.
6. The County, through its Platting Staff and the City
through its Planning Staff, shall provide advanca plar~qi~g and related
services for the unincorporated pcrtieu of the ~eater Bakersfield
Area and for the City of Bakersfie!d,. respectively, and inthis con-
necticn, said Planning Staffs shailfcocrdinat'e their raspec.tive'efforts
and activities in a spirit of compie~s oooperatio:a ank united effort~
7- All advance plarn~ing studies and ~natsrials resulting~.I~
from the efforts of the 'Co~F. ty and' City Planning .Staffs
furnished to 'the Area Planning Commission fop it's o~f~ independent
action and study, and in this 'conneotlon said Area pla.~_ning CoL~ission
is extended' the right and privilege of sscu?ing the services of th6
Pla~ing Staff of the County,~ insof am~' as the ~inco?pcrated aPga
the Co~,nty is concerned, and of ,~he Planruing Staff of' the Cit~,
as the City is ·concerned, by direct Assignment.
8. I~ediate steps s~l~ be taken to provide said
Plaming 'Comission with adequate facilities, including a clerical
staff, to enable the CoEission to psrf0rm its duties andrespcnsi-
billtieS,' all of the e~enSes for ~.z~ich shall be shaped bet~een the
City and the Co~ty on the basis bretofo~e established by the
mentioned resolution of March, 19575
