[HEP~EAS this Cou_ncil is firmly of the opinion that
an infon~ed .~lectoTate, fully cognizant of all of the duties,
responsibilities and prerogatives of the electorate, is the
best safeguard of ou~~ democratic process, and
~ITHEREAS for three consecutive years the high schools
of the Gres. ter Bakersfield ~etropolitan Area have Jointly
sponsored Teen-Age City Goven~ment Day, in which more than
five hundred students have directly participated and several
thousand have indirectly had part, and
1~HFaAS the Third Annual Teen~Age Governmen%l Day
Just completed ~vas the most suCcessfUl thus far, and
P~4EREAS the success of that even~ is directly attri~
bu~.able to the organizational abili~.y~ hard work and zeal of
the student counselors of ~he four schools involved, and
%'YMEREAS ~his Council desires to take official notice
of the accomplishments of these four men,

City Council does highly commend

Brother Ignetius, Gsrces L%emorial High School
AND BE tT FLFHTHE~ RESOLVED that ~ original of this
Resolution be sent tO each of the four men honored hereby, and a
copy to the Principal of his school.

passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 18th dsy of November,
1957, by the following vote:
